It should be noted right off that bat, that it’s ABSOLUTELY ok to find yourself in a creative rut. As a creative, we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to always be “on” which just isn’t sustainable. Let’s knock that expectation of ourselves right away. Creativity comes in ebs and flows, if we were constantly in a state of flow, we’d burn out. Instead of fighting the ebs, embrace them and take some time to yourself to switch up the routine a bit.

When I hit those lows, I’ve gotten into the practice of popping on a podcast and heading out for a little hike or walk. I found that after stepping away from the project, and listening to something inspiring I come back feeling refreshed and ready to get stuck back in.

So, with that, here are 4 inspiring Ted Talks that touch on creativity. Perfect for a walk around your neighborhood, background noise as you take a nap, or on your drive.
